ABOUT PATRICK
Patrick Byers founded Outsource Marketing (“Outmark”) in 1997, and has been recognized a marketing outsourcing pioneer. With over 30 years of experience in strategic marketing research, planning, and management, Patrick helps organizations clarify their brand, sharpen their positioning, and develop integrated marketing strategies that bring the voice of the customer into the heart of their operations.
His expertise spans brand and company positioning, message strategy, communications planning, content development, web strategy, and naming for products, services, and organizations. Patrick’s practical, no-nonsense approach simplifies complex marketing challenges, enabling clients to cut through the noise and connect with their audiences.
Prior to founding Outsource Marketing, Patrick directed marketing for two Seattle law firms and a Northwest-based telecommunications company. Frustrated by the bias and inefficiency of working with à la carte, uncoordinated freelancers, firms, and agencies, he created Outmark to deliver coordinated, discipline-neutral marketing via customized high-performing teams.
Patrick’s commitment to marketing education is evident in his five years instructing Integrated Marketing Communications at the University of Washington and 15 years on the program’s advisory board. He currently serves on the Marketing Advisory Board at Gonzaga University, his alma mater.
A sought-after speaker, Patrick shares insights on marketing strategy, positioning, marketing outsourcing, and navigating information overload. He was recognized as a “40 Under 40” honoree by the Puget Sound Business Journal in 2003 and named a Marketing Legend by the American Marketing Association’s Puget Sound Chapter in 2015.
